Product Description
A breed identified in the 15005 as being of Turkish origin, developed in the Netherlands – and known there as Hollands Hoen, or Dutch Chickens – then exported via Hamburg, Germany, to England. There the breed was developed further and identified as the Hamburg. Cold-hardy Hamburgs are good foragers and capable fliers.
They have a rose comb, sizable white earlobes, come in a few color varieties, and may be large or bantam. Hamburg hens are excellent layers of white-shell eggs and seldom brood.
