Product Description
It is an old dual-purpose breed originating in England and named after the massive red rose comb that covers the cock’s head. The comb and color pattern do not fully develop until these chickens are two to three years old. Redcaps come in a single color pattern, red trimmed with black, and may be large or bantam.
They tend to be active and flighty, are capable fliers, and are self-sufficient foragers. The hens are good, persistent layers of eggs with white shells and seldom brood.
